These sweet little stars are my favourite!

Placed on top of Ms Chenoa’s Christmas trees (I shared her IG post with pattern linked HERE) they make a most festive garland 🎄 🎄 🎄

These stars were my very first successful crochet project after YEARS of trying crochet and just not getting it. Something about these stars made my brain click!
Like many handwork projects, you quickly fall into the rhythm of the repeating pattern. There is a little bit of magic when you pull the magic loop and see the star come together 🌟
Handwork can be learned at any age! When we create with our hands it helps us to connect with the process and remember both the wonder and the struggle of learning something new. This helps us support our children as they journey through the new in so many ways.
What new skill have you learned lately?
Do your children see you trying, failing and succeeding at new things?
Do you make sure to create space in your life for your own pursuits?
Here is the simple pattern for the crochet stars. You can find many videos online to give you video support as well.
Create a magic loop and chain one to hold in place.
Single crochet into magic loop
Double crochet into magic loop
Chain two
Double crochet into magic loop
Repeat this sequence four more times to give you five “spikes”
Single crochet
Slip a stich from the first spike
Chain, cut yarn, pull through loop and tie off to secure.
Pull on magic loop tail to close the inner circle. Pull tightly! Tie off, cut end and your star is complete!
Until next time,
Marina
